Recommended Posts

Ok, I recently bought some Bosch ( I think ) blades from Halfords, but not too impressed with them really.

Can anyone recommend any good performing and visually nice blades? The Bosch ones look pap !!

thanks

I've been told you can't better the standard toyota ones - but they don't look special though i don't think.

Only thing i can think of is to use a product like rain X, its good stuff, if your going fast enough you don't need wipers!

When I got the Bosch ones I had to replace the little bits that attach the blades because the Bosch ones wouldn't fit without this little adapter bit.

Matt.... do you have any of these lying around ??

Hope you know what I mean... it has 2 screws on it I think that then conects the wiper blade to the actual wiper arm.

Or will I have to buy from Mr T ??

as said stick with the Bosch but use rainx so you dont have to use them ace stuff...

what does it do exactly ??

you know how the rain 'beads' on freshly polished paintwork.... well it does that..... but then flyes off.

I cant remember the name of the one i use but its the rude looking one on the shelf (bottom filler!)

also as an added bonus the frost doesn't settle on it, so when your neighbour is scrapping you just wonder out and drive straight off.

sounds good !! might look into getting this.

Possibly also some new Toyota blades and those little bits I need to connect them.

The Bosch ones just look sh*te !! Will take a photo tomorrow and you'll see what I mean !

Bosche wipers with the spoilers are a pain too, the spoiler makes the wiper lift of the screen which means anything over 70, you can't see!!

Bosch wipers were fitted as standard on my Corolla, don't know what is fitted as standard on other models by Toyota. I've had no problems with mine and they look nice as wipers go

All wipers I've had on cars to date tend to bounce about when you're going 70 or 80mph... Making it near impossile to see in the rain !

Posted

got wipers from Halfords but above 60mph they were a complete waste of time as barely touched windscreen, so bought toyota ones and they work very well, wish i'd bought them in the first place

Posted

yeah... I'm going back to toyota ones also..... wipers that don't touch the windscreen at high speed are pointless !

I've alread ybeen through 2 sets of Wiper Blades.

When i got my car the driver's side blade was worn down, so i needd a new one. Thought what the heck and got 2 Bosch champions. I also had to buy an adaptor kit as they weren't screw fitting... BIG mistake...

The plastic adaptor snapped off and a week or so!

I was driving down the motorway pitch black, bout 10/11pm, with rain ****** it down. Not being sensible and stopping i carried on leaning over to the passenger side to see out occasionaly. Left me with a scratched windscreen (from the broken bit). So then the next day i bought a Halfords wiper (w. spoiler, heh), fitted that on. The adaptor is also pants. The pin comes loose after a few days and u gotta push it back in else the wiper'l fall off.

Then about a week l8r the passenger side Bosch broke off, and guess what, it was ****** it down, so i had both sides of my windscreen scratched to f**k!

Got home and fitted the toyota one back on. Not only does it look better than any other blade, but it also performs better! Note: the passenger side blade was still usable.

So now i'm in the markek for a new windscreen, and a set of Wiper Blades (gonna go Toyota)any ideas on price these?

P.S sorry 4 the long post, just had to get that out :)

Damn Wiper Blades set me back about 35quid :ffs:

Zeroblade...

sounds like you got he same Bosch blades as me.. they are pants !! Look horrible too.

I've got some Toyota ones on order that I'm picking up on Saturday. They are about £20 per side !!

Expensive... yes... but probably the best.

Whata conicidence :D i bought some wiper last night, boshe ones.....found they wouldnt fit so was given a set of Halfords ones with an adapter kit. get home to find she'd given me two 18" blades not an 18 and a 20 :ffs: AND they already had a bleeding adapret in anyway, so £2 down the drain

And they look tosh.....how hard is it to change the wiper arms for ome that will fit "normal" blades do ya recon?

As for boshe blades, i always found them excelent on my sx...used to have problems over 100 with non-spoilerd ones lifting off, but these seemed to really work....must be something to do with the aerodynamics of the MR2 or somut...

Doh!

:D

Mite have to go down to me local dealer and get them to order me 'em.

Do u need part no's or could i just go in and ask for the Wiper Blades?

Posted

they seem to order everything by chassis number... unless you want for example a rev3 bootlock.. then they get annoyed... lol

Just phone them and tell them what you want. If you've got an import it's easier as the wiper design changed less supposedly.

Ok that's cool m8 will do.

Not got an import i'm afraid it's a standard uk jobbie :(

Mite be better to get a new wiper design i'll ask em and c what they say.

I really need to get some new wiper arms awell, mine have rust patches on em that lok really ugly
