Cts Or Ctr

I recently had an argument with a friend of mine who

believes that CTR is a far better car that CTS and that I should

have ordered the CTR instead of the CTS. My opinion was that

for less money (16500 pounds the CTS - 21000 pounds the CTR in greece)

I am buying a descent car in terms of handling with a very good engine

and a lot of goodies. On the other hand if I ordered the CTR I would have owned

a racing car with nothing in terms of accessories spending 5k more.

So what do you say

pure racing feeling --> CTR or

best of both worlds --> CTS ?

What do you think are the major pros and cons in each car?

I want to listen your honest opinions plz

in my opinion the cts is MUCH better value for money and the new civics are :censor: if i had enuf cash to afford both and my choices were: brand new cts or brand new older model civic, id go the civic. they have proven themselfs on the racetrack and i think they look nicer too(hate the big lights on cts).

the new civic sux, have u seen the interior??? its like a 4x4!!

at this time where most cars look like **** i would go for the cts.

plus it dont matter if the civic is quiker, it comes down to the driver really. to me it dont matter if u drive a ferrari or a datsun as long as u can drive quik. ive seen reall :censor: drivers driving sweet super cars and they where beaten by a mear lancer(not straight line). so there is no point stressing about which car is quiker if ur not going to take the car close to its limit

seems noone is interested in defending the cts

against the mighty ctr. Btw all the car magazines

I have read so far (online or not), have concluded that ctr is

by far a better hot hatch than cts. :(

what do you think rx7,supra, 300zx,gto,skylines are? 

These cars are in a totaly different leage in terms of price in comparison with ctr , cts

ctr is just a quick simple hatchback thats all is ever gonna be

i really feel uneasy on here sometime when i see post like this  in a toyota forum

I wanted some honest opinions from people who owns a cts. If I posted the same message in a honda forum

the answers would be in favour of ctr

we should all say cts is so great is the best car in the world

As I stated I am waiting for my cts in a few weeks hopefully and I wanted to hear the oppinion of people

who already know the cts in order for me to be able

to defend our car against anyone attacks it.

what if toyota bring out out a cts with a turbo  on it as standard and will destory ctr in speed wise  than what ? you and others are compairing the two car base on the  speed what the book say and not look in other angles 

The complaints about cts as I read in many magazines

are not against it's engine which is consider one of the best but against it's handling and especially the very soft and unfeeling steering wheel.

like i said many times why would any new or current cts owners want to come here and read or reply to this kind of stuff is been done many times already and is starting to upset me i wish people stop posting these kind thing

Spend money on a body kit, lowering springs and decent alloys and the CTS then becomes as good.

You can get CTR's for the same price if not cheaper than CTS's here... so in my mind it's no contest.

The reason that all the motoring press swing towards the CTR is because it is the better hot hatch in many peoples minds.

And in regards to people getting touchy about my opinion of the CTS, can I just add that i personally would choose the CTR and that i'm not suggesting that anyone who has bought the CTS has made a mistake, thankyou.

I'm only expressing my opinion which I feel is only fair as the thread asks 'cts or ctr?'

i am not going to carry on with this anymore two wrong dont make a right all these agument is not doing this club any good so i will deleted everything i wrote these last two days

what i need to do is find a toyota club forum that have same view as i have on the cts and other crazy things and if i cant find any i will try and make my own toyota club forum so others cts owner can come and be crazy too

all i wanted is to be in a toyota club with people who share the same view as i do on the cts which in my mind is every bit as good or even better than any other car at the same or above the cts price range

Think you are comparing apples with pears now guys! Which car is better Ferrari F40 or a Mercedes limo.?

Honestly, CTR & CTS are completely different and which one is better all comes down to what you're looking for in a car.

Fast around a tarmac track with not so high demands for comfort and quality in everyday driving and the CTR is the better car!

Looking for an everyday car to drive to work, gramma over christmas etc. with comfort, quality without spending all your money but still with some power to leave a lot of cars behind you and the CTS is the better car.

For me the CTS is the better car since I'm driving it everyday and taking it to gramma over x-mas...
