well todays progress is that the engine is in and mounted, ran into some problems already so now need the abs and rest of braking system from the t sport and also need the steering columb and rack as the 1.0l runs electronic power steering and the t sport is ran from a pump.

Sounds fun! I recon, by the time you have finished, you would have been better off selling the car and getting a T-s. The conversion will ALWAYS be just that, no matter how much you swap around.

Also, I would think any insurance co. would offer a better quote on a real one then for a conversion!

How did you do or how are you going to do the dashwork? I wouldn't mind a T-s but I greatly prefer the digital dash compared to the dials! That was one of the defining style features of the Yaris, then they spoiled it (In my mind) by adding dials making it look plain.

The holographic dash is my favourite interior fitting, it would be nice to know it could be easily fitted into a T-s. Plus I liked the 5 door better, although they made what seems like a limited run of them, after I had my CDX!

I may have had that, even though they only have a manual gearbox. (I got auto so my partner could drive... She has, about once a year)!

Good luck with the rest of the project,

Gar. ;)

Its a personal thing, although it is possible the cost of the conversion will get close to cost of buying a TS the money on a TS wont get a modified one the way he wants it, the car he has is done to his taste already.

As for inurance the only experience of transplant insurance was a couple of years back a friend of mine put an rs2000 engine in his escort and the modified car insurance with all mods declared (re-map, exhaust system and so on) was cheaper than the insurance on a genuine standard one.

Nice 02 T-s on eBay at mo, £3600 or offers! In black, in Scotland. Is that a bargain? (Under 50.000mls).

Nos A? I bet you 'forget' to mention that to the insurance company! Tee-Hee!
