Hi Mate,

You'll be able to bolt it straight on to your 205 (You might have to Slightly Alter the Down pipe to fit it, Basically on your 205 you'll have 7 Studs on your Downpipe where it bolts onto your turbo, This turbo will have Either 4 or 6 stud openings depending if it came off a ST165 or ST185, It'll be fine but i thought i'll warn you. Basically all you'll have to do is remove the un-needed studs)

I assume your running standard boost? (No controller or Bleed Valve). It'll run fine with a standard ECU on Standard boost but to get the best out of it you'll have to get a Programmable ECU like Jones~32 said. Basically this turbo should be capable of Boost Pressures of around 1.5bar (I don't think it'll push out 450BHP tho, as it says in the ad, More like 380-400BHP probably).

And if you wanted to use it to it's max capabilities some more work would need to be done on top of a ECU, Were talking a thicker Headgasket (1.4mm Minimum - maybe 1.6mm), Forged Pistons possibly Con Rods aswell, Injectors, Fuel Pump, Front Mounted Intercooler (You'll be at the limits of your charge cooler), Uprated Manifold and Downpipe to Maximise Exhaust Flow Etc Etc.

If you do buy one, ask them exactly what has been done to the turbo, If they respond and it hasn't had any of these things done don't buy - 1. 360 Degree Bearing. 2. Steel Shaft instead of the Ceramic one (The ceramic ones are the main "Weak Link" with these turbos. 3.Bored out Scroll of turbo / Duel Entry Ports / Inlet and Outlet.

Plus, not wanting to be a kill joy or anything, but i'd be very careful, and i say this in regards to the price. @ $549 with the exchange rate as it is, thats roughly £275/£280. For a really good Hybrid Turbo your talking £700 just for the work they are claiming to have done, and thats not including the turbo.

Hope this helps

Tony

mate im running 470 bhp/380 ft lbs on a 205 lump, apart from the apexi turbo all that's inside the engine is JE forgies, and ARP rod, main and head studs.

there really is no need for such a thick head gasket (mines a 1.2 HKS one) as the higher compression helps off boost and with proper mapping it wont affect top end and high boost. as for the charge cooler set up its fine upto about 450bhp and that being a hybrid Ct it wont be anywhere near that.

you will need injectors and pump and standalone ecu to get the best from it but even bolted straight on you will gain from the benefits of the better flowing turbo as it will make more power at the same boost.

your better off going to essex turbos for a rebuild TBH as i have had dealings with them and their turbos are good.

speak to ian at TR&D in nottingham for advice. he is the leading specialist in the UK for all things GT4
