Bubbling

Hi, i was hoping someone could give me a little advice.

I've got a ST185 and recently, after a spin of about twenty miles upon opening the bonnet i noticed there seemed to be a little steam comming from the back of the engine (athough i can't be 100%), and the radiator sounded as if it was bubbling. Is this normal or an i just being paranoid??

The car doesn't show any signs of over heating though, with the temp guage never going over half way.

Any help would be appreciated.

Keep a careful check on coolant levels, if it runs low this can lead to head gasket failure. Have a good look around the back of the engine to check for leaks.

If the bubbling you can here is from the header tank and the level is not low this may be the early signs of H/G failure although I would get the leak checked out first.

Yeah it seems to be the header tank thats making the noise, I keep quite a regular check on fluid levels and it doesn't seem to be loosing any water. Is there a way I can check if the H/G has gone?
