Starlet Sportif

I am a new member to the forum having just bought a starlet sportif reg 1998.It has a manual gearbox which has a problem,well i`m assuming it`s the gearbox that has the problem. Driving along in 4th gear it will suddenly just slip out of gear.This is the only gear that this happens in,the rest work fine. Any suggestions,can this be repaired,or is it more major than that. many thanks

i think that problem is the cluch , on the clutch there are groves which grip on to the gears on if those groves have worn it may couse the car to slip out of gear

i am having a similar problem when i change gears it grinds like im not using the clutch but the pedal is to the floor and

sometimes it just wont go into gear at all its as if there is something blocking it i think this is quite dangerous when im driving on the motorway.

do you think this maybe a clutch problem. i have had some on look at it but they dont know what is causing it any suggestions ??
