whats the fram rates like though?

The framerate on Lost Planet on the 360 is fine. This is just like what has happened with Pro Evo 2008 on the 360. IGN said the framerate is smooth on the 360 but on the PS3 it occasionally drops.

Konami themselves have said the PS3 version of Pro Evo is superior to the 360 version with higher res texture mapping because of the extra space available on a Blu-ray disc.

Pro Evo 6 on 360 was utter, utter *****e. The PS2 version was loads better.

and guys..... for gods sake, Lost planet is miles from completion on PS3, try comparing games that are actually out

Colin McRae DiRT is FAR better on PS3

Thats really funny because the PS3 version of Pro Evo 2008 has framerate problems.

According to reports the PS3 version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 or PES 2008, is absolutely terrible as it has very bad frame rate problems, leaving many reviewers to state that PS3 owners should avoid the game and pick up FIFA 2008 if they want a quality soccer experience.

Many PS3 users were a bit nervous when there was no PS3 demo of PES 2008 released prior to the game shipping to retail stores, and for good reaon.

A Winning Eleven fan site has come out and put up their review stating that the PS3 has some terrible slowdown issues which basically destroy the game.

Pro Evolution Soccer has always been known for its incredibly smooth game play and also has been known in the past to not be as detailed as the EA Sports’ FIFA franchise. They made up for it though with a solid frame rate and some amazing animations.

Unfortunately the PS3 version though falters big time as that smooth game play is gone as it is destroyed by the frame rate issues. If you want a soccer experience, it appears that PES 2008 fans on the PS3 will be very disappointed.

Xbox 360 version on the other hand, no framerate problems. Colin Mcrae on the PS3? It was a !Removed! game anyway, the handling was terrible.

Where did you get that badly written drivel? It doesn't match any of the reviews i've read.

Ok then. IGN comparison.

PS3:

Visually sharp with superb animation, let down by the clunky crowd and occasional drop in frame-rate.

Xbox 360:

Visually sharp with superb animation, plus it runs smoothly too. The depth-of-field filter looks a bit odd though, especially on a hi-def telly.

Pro G Opening paragraphs:

The bitter battle between fans of the two next generation consoles can at times be a nasty exchange. Supporters of Microsoft's Xbox 360 take great pleasure in pointing out, at every opportunity, the PS3's failings - the lack of exclusive triple-A games, the high price and the late ports. The PS3 camp claims a more powerful console, HD movie playback built in and the ability to fit more on a Blu-ray disc compared with a DVD. But one thing that PS3 and 360 fans alike must admit is that developers are, on the whole, finding it hard to get to grips with Sony's console. Some have pointed out the complexity of the system, while others speak of issues with the way the console handles memory. Either way, we have seen some very high-profile PS3 games that have suffered from slow-down, less than impressive graphics and glaring drops in frame rate. Unfortunately nowhere is this more apparent than in Pro Evolution Soccer's debut on the PS3.

We were so shocked by the slowdown and frame rate problems that we dropped the resolution from 720p to standard to see if it had any effect. All it did was take the HD sheen off proceedings. Then we tried using the AV lead the PS3 comes bundled with to see if that helped. The only difference here was the graphics looked even worse than they do normally. Stunned, we plugged the HDMI cable back in and put the resolution back up to 720p just to give the game one, last chance. PES has given us so much pleasure down the years that it at least deserved that. We set up a game just as before, in the rain, in the same stadium and with wide view, and we experienced the same problems again.

Well, mine's coming tomorrow so i'll just have to wait and see.

If it is bad there will be uproar, guess they'll have to patch it or something

That lost planet pic is funny.

Bad about the Pes slowdown!

I watched something the other day saying that some BIG game (monster hunter? Or something like that), will not be out on the PS3 because it is too costly to develop for - instead now they've gone over to the Wii.

It just seems at the moment that there are so many good Xbox games out. Too many to play actually!! Where the PS3 is getting games the Xbox had out ages ago. No killer app for the PS3 as far as I can see. There's a big lack of big name games!

Yeah, they do seem to take ages to make.

Early next year there's GranTurismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Killzone 3, Final Fantasy XIII, and then God of War 3, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.

that are all great looking PS3 exclusives, just wish they'd hurry up and release some of them
