Very nice price indeed. I may give them a try.

I'm with Admiral, only 1 year no claim bonus, 29 years old and CTS with k&N fitted. £645 (10 months bonus accelerator so technically not 12months). It does come with alot of extras though. Free windscreen cover, RAC 24 Cover, 750 stereo cover etc...,All thrown in for free. I got a further discount because i didn't want the RAC cover as i already get that with my premium bank account. I only just renewed it in July. Last year it was the 650. Their excuse was that crime had risen in my area so that would account for the price dropping only 5 pounds and not alot more as i had gained a NCB. My fault for not retaining my NCB's from the previous years because for just over 2 years i was a named driver on another persons policy. So i was not the main policy holder.

I've heard Greenlight are good, i might get some quotes and see if i can get it any cheaper.

I remember i got a quote from Toyota insurance a while back, it was 2300, so i just hung up immediately. Unbelievable!

I'm 24, with 1 year no claims and i pay £672 via Greenlight. Think my excess was £350 though.

Will be £472 when i hit 25 and have 2 years NCB...

Just got a quote from Greenlight, 597 a year. Only 50 pounds saving over my current insurer, but the greenlight one does not have all the extras like my current. Car stereo cover is only 500, injury cover is 100k as opposed to 250k with Admiral.

I think i will just stay with admiral. It might be the area i live in that is a high risk (west london). Although car is parked in a locked garage overnight, and have extra secure electric driveway gates.

Cheers

Bell Direct is a sister company of Admiral for Younger drivers, I've been with them for years lol. All policies are under written by Admiral

Ahh, saves me having to try Bell then. Hadn't had the chance yet. Thanks.

Armz I'd give them a "Bell" anyway they were much cheaper than anyone else even when i lived in Kennington (SE11 postcode i think) on a 205 GTI

Having read this thread I have just submitted a request for quote into Greelight. I had a renewal figure of £984 with endsleigh as I was already with them on my old car (fiesta) I'm 25 with 3yrs NCD my monthly figure since April has been £102!! So I went to Direct Line and got a quote of £650. Reading this thread suggests I should be able to do better! I'm gonna have a look at Admiral too and will post to let people know.

I went through about a dozen quotes before i decided with admiral. Was by far the cheapest at the time. Infact it's looking like it's still the best option for me in light of the extras i get with it.

Let us know how much they quote you if you try them.

OK so just come of the Admiral online quoting engine - £703. Thats with the same level of cover as Direct Line, same XS, car hire etc. Plus I also added my mum as named driver on both quotes, as I have found in the past that this reduces the premium. Importnaly though it is not considered "fronting" or "shielding" by the underwriters, so won't invalidate my claim (if I ever need to make one).

I'm waiting on Greenlight to come back to me, I hope its cheaper, Northampton must be considered a ropey postcode if my quotes are so much higher than other peoples who are younger with less NCD.

LOL!, i may just give them a try later then if they offer online quotes. Thing is you said they are a sister company of Admiral so i'm not expecting any cheaper. Also i hardly see myself as a 'young driver' haha, unless 29 is seen as young? :yahoo:

DrivingGloves: That's dissapointing. I was expecting it to be cheaper.

The best thing to do is try as many comparison sites as you can.

Confused, tesco compare, money supermarket, you know the ones.

I'm 40, 6 years NCD and got insurance from mymotorquote for my avensis

2.2 tspirit on a 55 plate, fully comp with all the trimmings for £330.

Shop around, trust me, you'll find cheaper.

All the best,

Simon.

PS. 4 points on my licence too.

21, 1 years NCB, no points or claims, low risk postcode/job.

Just under £800 with Admiral.

Ahh yes, the type of job you do makes a big difference. Mine is considered high risk. I.T consultant, i guess because we always work long hours, even 24/7.

Bear in mind if you want to modify at all, Greenlight are good for that.

Unless you increase the performance to the next band (210bhp), won't increase the premier. They sometimes don't even charge admin charges (when i phoned up, it was suggested to call late friday and get a few put through at the same time)

I asked about the premium increase, and admin charge and told it was about £50 combined.

Think I'll have to try greenlight when I'm up for renewal then as the Eibach springs make it hard to get insurance with all of the mainstream companies. Plus their prices look excellent for what people's positions are. All things being equal, when I come to renew I will be 27 with (hopefully) 4yrs NCB and (hopefully) 0 Points :)
