New Chemical Element Discovered

The heaviest element known to science was recently discovered by

investigators at a major research university. The element, tentatively

named administratium, has no protons or electrons and thus has an atomic

number of 0. However, it does have one neutron, 125 assistant neutrons, 75

vice neutrons and 111 assistant vice neutrons, which gives it an atomic mass

of 312. These 312 particles are held together by a force that involves the

continuous exchange of meson-like particles called morons.

Since it has no electrons, administratium is inert. However, it can be

detected chemically as it impedes every reaction it comes in contact with.

According to the discoverers, a minute amount of administratium causes one

reaction to take over four days to complete when it would have normally

occurred in less than a second.

Administratium has a normal half-life of approximately three years, at which

time it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which

assistant neutrons, vice neutrons and assistant vice neutrons exchange places.

Some studies have shown that the atomic mass actually increases after each

reorganization.

Research at other laboratories indicates that administratium occurs naturally

in the atmosphere. It tends to concentrate at certain points such as

government agencies, large corporations, and universities. It can usually be

found in the newest, best appointed, and best maintained buildings.

Scientists point out that administratium is known to be toxic at any level of

concentration and can easily destroy any productive reaction where it is

allowed to accumulate. Attempts are being made to determine how administratium

can be controlled to prevent irreversible damage, but results to date are not

promising.

Some people are getting a bit concerned that these potentially humorous posts are pushing the serious well thought out technical posts off the main board. This must be the case because I can't find the numerous well thought out technical or non technical but none the less deep and meaningful posts recently. Where did they go ?

I think its got to the point here I someone needs to know of find sometihng out, they go and ask on another forum. With all the ***** thats posted I think a lot of people don't see this as a serious forum anymore so keep most things technical/intelectual for other forums, and come here as more of a joke... which is a shame.

I have only been posting here since September as I am new to TOC, I do not see the general forum as an area for the well thought out technical posts as there are so few....

I only mirrored the content that I read, I see jokes; so I posted jokes.

I spent some time looking back to early pages and I can see why older posters are disgruntled, but everything in life evolves, you only get out what you put in.

I assumed that if you had a technical question you would post it in to the forum specific your model as that where the experts of the vehicle tend to congregate and share best practice.

I took the general forum to be a light hearted end of day frippery to chill out and wind down, not a war zone for pettiness and back biting.

Might I suggest setting up a Fun forum so as not to interfere with the higher thoughts of the more intellectual posters.

There is nothing wrong with your jokes in the General Forum, but as already suggested, why don’t you just keep them in one topic instead of cutting and pasting 20 different joke threads a day?

I would have thought by the reactions and comments up to now that some forms of repetitive humour can be somewhat irritating... ;)
