Carina E Headlights

hi

have a Carina E , when i put the headlights on low beam the right side light is off , however when i switch to normal beam for night driving both lights are on and light up fine.

Does this indicate i require a new headlight?

are they easy to replace - never done this before..

More than likely just the filament in the headlight bulb in which case you'll be able to buy a replacement bulb at almost any auto shop.

Should be fairly easy to replace providing you can get access to the back of the headlight OK. Some cars like the Celica Gen 7 are very difficult to do because the space is so restricted, but I think with the Carina you should have more room. The process will almost certainly be covered in your owners handbook.
