Toyota Concept Cars...

OK, maybe I'm just imagining it... but I found this link and suddenly in my own mind, everything became crystal clear... I had one of those epiphany moments. I thought I was looking at the new...

  • MR2 (or MR-S or whatever) in the chape of the CS&S

  • Celica in the shape of the FINE-S

  • Supra in the shape of the FT-HS

I thought this despite having read that the CS&S ugly mobile was supposedly the Celica replacement, but looking at those three it all seemed to fit together. Wowsers! I hope I'm right :)

Take a look...

I don't think we'll see any more performance cars wearing the Toyota Badge.

The company are trying to pretend they're greener than green with Aygos and Yarises. 4x4s are OK because presumably they're only driven by people who really need them, and in any case is too lucrative a market for Toyota to walk away from.

Meanwhile, the Lexus IS-F has appeared.

and will no doubt be followed by a series of other -F Toyotas (sorry Lexuses) along the lines of BMW's -M cars.

Hopefully there will be a new Supra, but I don't think it will wear a Toyota Badge.

I completely agree; it always seemed bizarre to me that Toyota were launching into F1 at the same time as their three best cars (IMHO) Supra, Celica and MR2 were being axed.

Lots of news about of further F cars, and a range of F performance accessories for the F cars.

My prediction is that IF the F1 team starts doing well, it'll be re-branded as Lexus F1, or at least Toyota/Lexus F1.
