If the airbag light has come on then it means there is something wrong and needs to be checked before the light/codes are cleared!

It may just be a poor connection somewhere, a diag check at a dealership shouldnt be much.

could be a seatbelt at fault mate , they have pretensioners built in , toyota should check it for free cos if an airbag deploys whilst driving it costs toyota alot of money ,trust me, alot of money , i dont make airbag modules any more for toyota so its not 1 of mine. ;)

Check under the front seats to make sure the electrical connections haven’t come apart.

Putting anything under the front seats could have disconnected them. You will see a wire/cable under there.

hi thanks for the swift replies

she is trading the car in next week so was hoping it was just needing resetting

if you do that and the new owner had a problem - you'll find yourself in court!

Get it checked, just for safety. (How guilty would you feel if it went off in the new owners face).

The radio, if standard, will not hve a code. They were a Yaris only system, making them unlikely to be stolen.
