Head Unit

Hi All,

I have a 1994 GT-Four WRC and want to upgrade the stereo. Just a few questions:

1) How do you remove the factory head unit?

2) What wiring loom is required (I would be grateful for the make and model number)?

3) Is a fascia plate required (again, I would be grateful for the make and model number)?

Thanks in advance for any advice

hi. easy to remove:

unscrew gear knob

lift up plastic trim panel around gearstick and unplug cigar lighter conector.

unscrew to screws at bottom of next panel up. this will then pull towards you. spring clips on back have tendency to pop off and fall behind dash, this will rattle like made if you don't find and remove them!!!

radio cage unscrews and pulls forward. you can then disconnect it. if you have the DSP system (8" subs in front doors) then there is a seperate amp/DSP unit bolted down at the transmission tunnel...

this can be removed and the wiring going to the box under the passenger seat can be removed. remove amp aswell. you are then left with the standard toyota iso conectors.if you want to hook up the subs in would suggest replacing them and using a better quality amp.

you can then bolt in your radio and use a din E pocket to fill in the hole.
