hi there

i am going to change avensis on rav 4

Am i on the right way or not?

What are the merits and demerits of RAV 4 (2.4 vvt-i).

WHat is both fuel and oil consumption of rav?

I am fed up with avensis 2003 with oil consumption.

Thanks a lot for any advise

Cheers/Igor

Hi Igor, I would highly recommend the Rav4 it is a great car

cant comment on the 2.4 engine as its not available in the uk, if you want an

opinion on the 2.0 petrol engine stick around and someone will help. Mine is

a diesel so I could not comment on the petrol model.

Good luck.

hi DAVE

thanks for yr advise. i also like diesel engines but due to a poor quality of respective fuel Toyota does not export cars powered by diesel in Ukraine.

I have not seen any remarks on oil consumption for Rav-4. Yes that is right and I will definitely get new Rav-4.

Thanks/Igor

Hello there ....

I traded up from an avensis....I had a 04 plated avensis t4 spec ( the one with sat nav and 17inch alloys...) It was only the 1.8ltr engine and I got decent milage from it....

Due to family expansion ;) I wanted some extra boot space and although when looking at the rav the boot looks kinda smaller in comparison the reality of it is that it aint....it is bigger... :)

Only downer :( we have found is that it seems that the cabin space is shorter than the avensis, so when our littlen :baby: is sitting behind the passenger seat in his child seat his feet touch the backrest of the front seat. Other than that I love it, ok the fuel consumption aint as good as in the Avensis but then again it is a 2ltr petrol and it is also heavier in regards to Oil consumption I could not tell you what its like as I've only had my Rav for just over a month...

However in regards to fuel consumption...I have had 300ish miles out of one tank (driving as one should...) and just over 230 miles when testing the limits on my rav ;) ...

Anyway as everybody on this forum will agree....if you trade up you will DEFINATELY not regret it...so come on board and join us....

Hope that helps you a little....

regards

Rob

Nightstalker

Are your seats slid right back? They slide like the front ones to give more loadspace but when slid back there seems acres of space in mine.

My 10 year old daughter cant touch the back off my seat when she's sat behind me...Have the rears slide all the way back and reclined a bit too...Apart from her sliding from side to side on the leather...no problems....

Yeah the seats are slid all the way back with a little tilt on them...

I believe its the child seat I have got. Hes only 20months old :baby: and I've got a M&P seat which also reclines, this pushes his feet forward a little.

All I'm saying is that in comparison to the Avensis when his seat is reclined the other half cant recline her seat as her back rest is touching our littlens feet...

I am sure though that when we change the child seat to a booster type that his legs will just lie normal on the seat - if you get my drift...

I'd never change the Rav so dont get me wrong I love it! - Ive even come to terms with the euro ncap vin thingie...I've got 5 days off coming up so will endevour to get some proper pics and post them...

Sorry about the last pic I posted chatmann...thats the only way I can post them at work...our lovely IT boring people have banned all the good sites so cant access it from work so will have to wait when I get some time at home to post the alternative way.

ANYWAY...back to the original post!!!!

GET RID OF YOUR VENSIS....AND JOIN THE FUNNY FARM>>>NOW!

OH..also just as a friendly warning  NEVER...I say NEVVVVER mention the 3 letter word on this site that starts with C  Or the :ph34r::ph34r: will turn up and turn you into this.... :crutchy: by doing a bit of this :boxing:  :bangin::chair:

SO don t say I didnt warn you B)

Rob, we have a Britax Evolva 1-2-3 for our (tall) two year old lad. His feet come no-where near the front seat and he never fails to fall asleep within 5 minutes of being placed in it.

It's good for up to 36kg, so will last a long time and I think will be more comfortable that most booster seats I've seen.

Might be worth looking at.

Britax

Dave, which one am I?:lol::lol:

Fujisan...we've also got that one...but our littlen looks much more comfortable in the M&P one as it reclines so he can get a good kip when we do our long trips north of the wall...

Also to be honest I find the 123 tends to rattle and it dont half move about on the leather seats...need to get hold of some sort of anti slip mat....

Umm...never noticed any rattles in either of the two we have in our cars.

The one in my car is on a seat protector (I think from Kiddicare), like the one in the link below and it has never moved an inch.

The one in my wife's car is that tightly held in by the seat belt an earthquake couldn't move it

Nice one Mucka....

Think I will get myself 3 of those...

The ones I was looking at were thin ones, these look like they might actually stop the child seats from causing inprints on the seats....

Top Banana!

My pleasure

They certainly seem good stuff, thick material and well made.
