for some daft reason i have lost my petrol cap, went to fill up today and noticed i didnt have a petrol cap :o will i be ok untill i get a new cap ?

getting slightly worried if i could be damaging my car :(

I doubt it'll damage it, but it is a fire risk. Get one ASAP. You might be able to use a temporary cap which you can buy at most accessory shops if you can't get the right one today.

It will only be damaging your wallet on a temporary basis, lol. Get a new one ASAP, you are losing petrol vapours out of there and you dont want to go whooosh in the night

You must have disturbed someone who was going at your car with a length of hose, a petrol can and a pack of Trebor Xtra Strong Mints. Definitely get something sooner rather than later.
