i have a massive scratch on the left of my rolla, due to reverse parking under the influence, i grazed it on my fence and the paint has been taken off completely, luckily no dent.

i've seen those scratch removal products, just wondering if it is easy to do or not.

also it needs to be sprayed again can this be done wuthout taking it to garage?

Why would you be reverse parking "under the influence"?

If scratch is down to the metal then scratch remover isn't going to help; for the most part they remove paint. Maybe with a tiny scratch they move some of the remaining paint into it, but that really only applies to those scratches that you can barely see.

So yes, you need it painted. You can get touch up paint that you apply with brush, or spray at most accessory shops. There's a good chance Halfords will have the paint for your car, but failing that, Mr T. You'll struggle to do as good a job as a body shop though; they have the right kit to do the job properly whereas most touch up systems are a compromise. Mobile scratch repair outfit might be able to do an almost perfect job for a lower price, so it depends whether you want the repair to be completely invisible.

Instead of just criticising your actions  .................please let me offer some practical advice.

You could try one of the many mobile bodywork/scratch repair franchises that are available

Hope you get it sorted and are not so careless in future  Alcohol or drugs can affect your judgement

Alcohol or drugs can affect your judgement

And also happens to be illegal would you believe!

Let me also offer some practical advice...

"Don’t drive while under the influence"

At least it was only your car that was damaged and not a pedestrian or another driver.

:censor:

I'm with T V O R on this one, if you were on drugs then you are a :censor: tit. Drinking and driving don't mix, its one or the other am affraid. it's not hard to leave your car where it is for the night, even if you got a £60 fine thats cheaper than now getting your car re-sprayed/touched up.

drink drivers are scum IMHO

Only on the public highway I believe?

For example, if your car was on the drive and then after a few drinks you decided to put it in the garage, would that be illegal?

Of course if plod turned up while you were in the process, you might have a hard time proving that you were putting it into the garage and not taking it out in order to go for a spin.

Any person who is driving, attempting to drive, or in charge of a motor vehicle on the road, or in a public place (eg a pub car park or a garage forecourt), may be required by the police to provide a breath test

Being in charge of a motor vehicle with excess alcohol (DR40)

Penalty - Fine - up to Level 4 (£2,500) and/or up to 3 months imprisonment

10 penalty points on your licence

Disqualification is at the discretion of the Court

its still stupid and irresponsible. Weather it was on private land or on the highway why feel the need to move it?

get someone else to move it or leave it. If someone killed a child and their response was "oh i was on private land and moving it into my garage" think that will make a difference?

a reputable sprayers or from one of your links Steve. I admit I'm not the best driver as many will pick up on but i never drink and drive, its not worth it. If i killed myself thats bad enough but could you live with the thought of having killed a child or someones parent/spouse/partner?

its not just your life you put in danger it was other peoples stupidly. Remember the christmas adverts for it?

I was not making light of drink driving.........................Just wanting to answer his original question.

I have made it a golden personal rule for many many years now............NEVER to drink and drive.

I certainly could never forgive myself if I killed or injured anyone whilst under the influence.........therefore I NEVER do it and would certainly never encourage others to :(

Don't misunderstand me; I wasn't condoning driving under the influence (of alcohol we assume?) on or off the road. Simply saying that we shouldn't leap to the assumption that the act in question was on the road and therefore illegal.
