I want to have a tow bar on my diesel Rav purchased new December 2006. The purpose to tow a small trailer ie to the tip etc, I will not be fitting myself. Do I go to Toyota and get them to do the job, I guess expensive (yet to ask) or will a competent mechanic find it a straight forward job, if the latter any ideas where I buy all the parts, does it have to be Toyota, or are there good suppliers/specialist fitters out there, happy to travel a reasonable distance from sunny Bognor Regis B) to fit. Many thanks

give towequipe a try , any of there centres will fit it for you. you may need the specific wiring kit also , i believe the 2006 rav4 uses a firewire type loom

Hi Richard, GT4 is right about the new Rav4 wiring. If you look up a member called Nmaria, she fitted a towbar to the 4.3 Rav

with her husband. She lives in a very rural part of the north of scotland and had limited options to get the towbar fitted.

Do a search on profile or search the Rav forum for towbar fitting and it may give you an idea of the work involved.

Good luck,

Dave. ;)
