There is a link to the Toyota Technical site on a few of the threads. Its basically an online workshop manual

for every job. There is a small fee (3 euros for 2 hours I think, but you can print off as much as you like)

If Anchorman or Chatman or some of the other members are online later they might post the link to save

you searching. Good luck ;)

Trouble is that the 4.1 isn't on there and I'm not familiar with it so can't say how closely it resembles the 4.2 with the VVTi.

I think that Bob King has a manual for sale.

However, if you are OK with the operations you have described already I wouldn't be concerned about tackling it. The only problem I have ever encountered has been that the shaft might be worn where it contacts the seal especially if it is leaking as badly as described. If this turns out be the case you can sleeve the shaft with one of these speedy sleeves. You just knock the sleeve onto the shaft with the mandrel supplied and then nip off the inner lip. Follow this link for further info - you will see what I mean. I have used many and it saves you changing the crankshaft. I can honestly say that I used lots and they were trouble free.

I think you can find them on eBay or a quick web search will turn up UK suppliers

Good luck
