Previa Engine Failure

My wife's Previa engine seized on the motorway last week after only 52,000 miles on the clock. We have had the car only 15 months (purchased second hand from Toyota garage) and we have only done 5,000 miles since we purchased it. The car is only 5 years old (52 plate).

The engine was checked, after the breakdown by the AA and had plenty of oil.

I'm told I face a bill of around £3,000 to fit a new engine. Does anyone have any advise or know about anyone else who has suffered this?

I assume it was a series 2, but unsure - its on a 52 plate.]

Did it have plenty of coolant? Was it proper toyota stuff?

Is it actually seized or did the AA man just say it was?
