Cts V's Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.8 T

Pull up at some lights tonight, little boy racer wanted to play in 05 seat ibiza (i do like the cars). Pulled away from the lights seemed like he had more initial torque cos of the turbo. But took it through the 1st gear lift he was half a car length in front, dropped into second hit the lift again. Then caught him and passed him going into third then eased away quite easily.

Tried to find a bit of info on this car cos its the first time one has tried it on. Anyone know whether its any better than the cts cos of its turbo ??

Engine: In-line 4-cyl, 1781cc, 20v, turbo

Max power: 178bhp @ 5500rpm

Max torque: 162lb ft @ 2000rpm

0 - 60mph: 7.3sec (claimed)

Top Speed: 142mph (claimed)

what ibiza was it ? cupra 20v turbo this has 178bhp 0-60 in 7.75 or was it the ibiza cupra r this has 180bhp 0-60 in 6.67 ?

i had a play with my m8s golf from a set of traffic lights. he got ahead at the start ' then when i hit lift in second gear i made a nice gain . his car has the 1.8 20v turbo engine also found in seat ,skoda vw and audi.Well impressed with my standard cts.

Dont know which one it was, but interesting reading on the link. my mates got a honda accord type r on a w reg, its the 2.2 version. I keeping baiting him to say mine quicker than his, looking at the stats on that website it seems there is nothing in it 0-60 i think ill put it to the test with him :D

Why not :) that site says our cts does 0-60 in 6.83 yet some people on here state they have had low 7's, but i think many people relate to that site when comparing.

I need to get myself timed 0-60 before i start modding then compare with modded 0-60 :)

Anyone know the closest place to middlesbrough where i can get timed 0-60 ?

That site has only calculated figures so it can't really be used for anything.

It has the CTS doing 0-100 and ¼ mile faster that the 07 CTR and GTI mk5

borodaz load tempes from www.tempes.com. With that u can test that 0-60 and it pretty much tells the truth :)

CTS is probably faster doing 0-60, than the new ctr or the mk5 golf. But don't know what happens in quarter :(

bassill do u mean mk4 or mk5 golf? mk4 is pretty slow if it's stock..

I know the CTS and 07 CTR 0-60 are close, not sure which one is quicker.

0-100 or ¼ mile the CTS isnt faster than either
