Mot Light Failure

Having done little more than give it a wash and checked everything worked, my 02 D4D with 85,000 miles failed on one thing - the drivers side headlight was set to low (over here in Northern Ireland tests are government run and very stringent).

I have adjested the upper and lower teethed whhels on the rear of the headlight but to no avail - can someone please point me in the right direction.Thanks.

Hi and welcome.

It could be something like the bulb isn't seated squarely in the lens. However, without a proper alignment gauge you'd just be guessing with the direction of the beam. Take it to a garage and get the lights realigned. With the proper gear it's a 10 minute job, and then you'll know for sure that they are OK for the retest !

Good luck

Rich

i doubt its anything to do with your bulb not being seated properly or anythin, you just need your headlights set. i wouldnt go for an mot without gettin it done. if you had had the car checked over before the mot the mechanic should have checked this.

it needs done with the machine that a mechanic will have to make sure it is set just rite.

go to your local mechanic he'll probably do it for free as it takes like a minute but give him a couple quid for the trouble. where you from anyway? im in portadown.
