Condensation - Front Lights

Hi

I have a 6 month old Auris 1.6 MM/TSpirit. I got home tonight, after driving in the rain, & put my car in the garage (it's not garaged everynight - depends on who needs to be out first in the morning) I did, however, notice quite significant condensation in the direction indicator section of the front o/s headlamp. Whether this has happened before (& I've not noticed it) & whether it will have dried out by tomorrow morning, I'm not sure. Having experienced the same problem (with the rear lights) with an 04 Honda Civic I'm concerned that this is a design fault. Before I contact my local dealership, I thought I'd post on here first to see if I'm the only one who has experienced this problem?

Thanks for your interest

Phil

I have the same problem on my T180, lights are constantly showing condensation. I'm worried that this might start corrosion.

Hi

I had a Auris loan car with just 2k on the clock and it had the same problems with the headlights. I have just got my Auris and its been in the dealer garage more than mine. My problem is the brakes squeeking and scraping. Apparently a known fault. Not good really. Hope they can fix as love the car.

My brakes were also squeaking and as you say it was a known issue and I was shown a document about it. Something about there being 2 different brake pads that can be used, but one can have a squeaking problem. They just replaced them with the other type and it's been great since. Though mine was only in for a couple of hours, so maybe it is something else for you.

I also have the brake squeal. Got the Australia version but toyota cannot replace my pads. They only use one type of pads. Unless i put in aftermarkets one myself. But then, that will screw up the warranty for brakes. Its pretty annoying, it only goes away when the brake is up to normal temperatute. The more cold, the more loud the squeals. It kicked in when my odo was around 1700km

Hello,

I have pickup my Auris Yesterday and also noticed that are Front Lights contain Condensation, today I have visited my dealer and they told me that they will make picture of that and put it on warranty, so I hope that I will get new Head Lights. ( I think so  )

If anyone have some solution or quick tip to solve the problem please speak.

I too have noticed condensation on the front headlights on my auris here in Sweden. Seems like it happens when its been raining. Talked to two different dealers about it and they hadn't heard any complaints about it...Either they're lying or auris-customers haven't voiced their problems yet because it seems like it on this forum that it is a problem. We have an Avensis too and it has never shown any condensation...

I have pictures of it but don't know how to post them here.

Hi

I posted the original query re. condensation in Auris' headlights - a problem which I'm still experiencing. As yet, due to lack of time, I've still not taken it back to my local dealership. It is, however, due for its first service in May and I most definitely will mention it then! In the meantime, if other people who have experienced the same problem have been able to resolve it satisfactorily with their local Toyota dealerships, I'd be very grateful if they'd let me know!

p.s. I've (fortunately) not experienced the 'squeaky' brakes problem that other people have referred to.
