Hello to all !

I have one problem with Toyota Carina II XLi (engine 4A-FE) '91

When I want to start cold engine, first time when I turn the key I can

crank it for eternety but it wount start. When I turn the key for the

second (sometimes third) time it starts normaly.

This happens only during cold times (when temperatures goes under

20 C), during summer it starts normaly from the first turn of the key,

but the problems starts in winter.

After engine once starts (in winter) and runns for 1 minute and you

turn it off, it will start normaly (from first turn of the key) even after

10 minutes or more.

Any ides what may cause this problem ?

Tnx in advance !

Hello to all !

hi OldToyota.

Before you get eager. let me tell u.. i'm replying only because I'm facing the same problem too.

Mine is a 99 Corolla. and of late with the winter kicking in, i'm having Exactly the same issues as you are.

but with 1additional issue..

even when I am leaving work (after 9hrs of idle time) and it is cold in the evening at around 8PM, it gives the same issue.

My battery, Starter & ALternator are all OK. got it tested..

hoping to get some informative answer here..

Good luck.
