Probably the 2pound a litre mark before i throw my towel in and start selling my three cars and buying a few Battery powered hybrid thingies (lol) , as much as i hate them.

Seen a few electric prototype cars that really do look nice as they have almost as much power as petrol counterparts, but it's still early days. The quietness when you stomp the accelerator is very eerie indeed. Almost 'Jetson' like.

106.9p the day for v power was 101 last month :o

Oil prices are continuing to rise, with no expcted drop due, although they are hoping. The prediction for this time next year is that the price of oil will be averaging $124 per barrel, demand outweighing demand scenario due to China and India's economic boom.

I hope it does take a turn though won't be able to run the thing at this rate :(

If you drive your car for work, do they not give you a petrol allowance?

Hopefully prices will come down shortly, I always use V-Power.

My car is in the bodyshop for loads of work to be done. I dropped it in with the petrol light on, so hopefully when i get it back in a few weeks petrol prices will have stlled down abit and more reasonable. Last time i filled up it was 101.9p at a shell. 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Pompey Gaz: thanks for that link, cheers!

Nope, prices are set to rice again by a big increase before christmas. There are talks of another blockade! I think i'll pay 150 a litre before i give up. Thing is with Jess living 2 miles down the road its too long to walk but not long enough to get decent fuel economy :( so am hammering £20 a week, and thats going right down till the needle is past the empty mark! if people stop using the pumps then the forecourt will be forced to lower their prices.

And the thing with electric cars and hybrids are they are only as economical as your driving style

Get a push bike then if it's only 2 miles ;)

95.9p at Asda in Rochdale

99.9p Tesco in Boro.

Hope it drops soon.

I doubt many was at the pumps at rocdale, its been noted for problem petrol.

Really...what kind of problem......I lived there for 5+ years never noticed any problem???

Its local knowledge, or is rumoured amongst the drivers that have used the pumps that there vehicles ran rough after a term of long use even before the recent scare of contaminated fuel supplied in there own tankers.

I do not use any supermarket fuel "personal choice"

iam thinking of rebuilding the 1.3 mk3polo as it is single point injection and putting the rolla away for the winter and spring. to be honest road tax is around£100 and fully comp is £210 and i can put £20 of petrol in it and would go to work and back for a week and a half i think it maybe the best idea then aswell keeps the milage down and damage as i dont care what the polo looks like after all its just turn 17years old and it doesnt matter what happens to it. :arrgg-matey:
