Quite common, the instrument bulbs blowing. One's out on mine, but i cant be bothered. I can still see the rev counter at night!! ;)

To change a bulb;

1. Disconnect Battery, remove steering wheel(securing screw recessed on rear).

2. Remove facia switches from the centre stack panel(push fit to panel).

3. Remove the 2 centre stack screws, and pull the panel outwards. Allowing you to disconnect connectors(ciggy lighter,ashtray).

4. Remove the instrument finish panel securing screws, and withdraw the panel. Disconnect the instrument multi-plugs. Disconnect the speedo cable. The cable should be a two peice thing. Follow it toward the gearbox. You will see its cap like connecter. Unscrew to disconnect.

5. Undo the instrument panel securing screws, and remove. Disconnecting the multi plugs(white/brown etc).

Refit is this in reverse.

I've got to say that the method described above, is by no-means a guaranteed work method, and if the work is carried out unsuccessfully. I take no responsibility. In fact, my advice is to buy the relevent manual and carry out work or, get a reputed mechanic to carry out repairs.

Also, this is not a difficult job, but you will find that you have to take most of the dashboard and the steering wheel out to get at the various individual panels, so as to access the instrumentation bulbs.

Good luck!! :rolleyes:

I just took off my dash and painted it. It can be hard getting the cluster dropped (the one that wraps behind the steering wheel) it helps to move your shifter into 1 or drive for the extra space. Not sure about the rest other than you have to drop your radio/haz switch to get the bezel off that wraps around the inst. cluster.

Does it come back on?

Then go back off again? Only to come back on again a fraction later? :lol:
