Estima Knocking/rattling Noise ?

Right where to start, i own a 1993 k plate estima emina which has developed a loud metalic knocking noise somewhere under the front of the car, i`ve been under neath but can`t locate the problem. The noise does go away if you apply more revs.Likewise the noise gets louder if you put the lights on or use the electrics. I`ve checked the alternator which is fine and not vibrating and the belts are all tight. Now i`m at a loss, please help if you have any suggestions. thanks
