Forgot to mention.. there will be heat shields put in place, don't know if it will make much difference, but won't hurt.

Hmm..

Not so sure that the IC mount is good there

Heat transfered from the engine bay will definitely cancel out any cool air advantages making it a warm air induction, the best place seems to be underneath with ducting for cool air.

I still want a go though

I agree, I would have thought some sort of ducting. It's not a big job tbh.... why not get some made up while it's getting everything else done?

Just asked if there is going to be any ducting directing a cold air flow to the I/C and have been informed that there indeed will be ducting put in place :)

If it's all ready for the 10th Jan.. Steve will deliver it. His wife has a job interview in Glasgow on the 10th so he said he will bring it up.

Update time...

The garage carrying out the work had a few delays caused by 3rd parties, the powder coater couldn't do the work at the time it was booked in, the company from America who were supplying the sports cat didn't deliver... was ordered 3 weeks before Christmas , another cat was sourced but by that time the guy building the exhaust was fully booked, all that set the build back by about 6 weeks, now that stuff has been sorted out the work on the car has been completed, I've been told all that is left to do is the mapping, now... as the guy doing the work doesn't own an MR2 he wasn't too sure how the rear storage bins came out to access the ECU ,then a couple of members from MR2roc popped in to see how things were going, unfortunately neither of them had their 2's with them, and as I have had the storage bins taken away to create space for my subs n amps they (mr2roc members) decided it would be quicker for them to take my Emanage home and put in a map that would get the car running fine, meanwhile the storage bins are getting removed then when the Emanage is returned (might be back already) the car will go to Noble Motorsport for it's costom map.

Then I can finally get the car back

PHEEW!!.. That was hard work! ;)

Finally an update....

MR2Turboconversion.jpg

Not a bad result I think... I've been informed that "it drives really well albeit a little tail happy.. which is fun"... I hope to get the car back on Tuesday, just waiting on the garage doing some test drives to ensure they are 100% happy with it.

Your thoughts please.

I informed my insurance company (Adrian Flux) the other day... cost me an extra £27 for the remaining 4 months of the policy. It's just not worth it NOT to tell them... anything can happen.

Another update... another hold up :(

Now that the car has all been tuned and more or less ready to go, it was noticed that there was an oil leak at the turbo, so off it came and was sent to a specialist to get checked.. all was fine, so... the problem lies elsewhere. The return hose is being checked as is the possibility of that an oil restrictor might be required for the feed line, a few other things are also being checked out so we can find the cause and a solution... hopefully a simple fix.

Free car storage over the winter ;)

It's been done as a "project" at the garage.. I told them I was in no hurry, so the timescale isn't too big an issue tbh, (also getting a CRACKING price.. which will remain private, so can't complain too much)

If it wasn't for this oil leak.. I would have it now.
