Advice Needed! Mint 91 Camry Gx

hi there, i could do with some advice about the "real world" economy of a 91 v6 camry.

my dad has offered to sell me his showroom condition v6 camry.... (see pics, it's absolutely immaculate) but im a bit concerened that the fuel economy is going to be a bit steep as i drive between stoke on trent and chester quite often (about 100 miles return). Its spends most of its time covered up in a agarage so he's not too sure what mpg it does on longer runs (and he drives it like a vicar. :D )

would love to have it as he has spent a fortune on it over the years keeping it mint, but if its going to cost a fortune in fuel then its a no brainer........will prob end up on a well known internet auction site :(

I have a 2003 Camry V6 and my dad used to have a 97 Camry V6 and we both averaged around 27MPG, or 32 on an averagely long run. I did a run to Scotland last year though which was several hundred miles and managed 34MPG.

BTW - The Camry in the photo's looks a beauty, there a lovely smooth drive especially when the engines have loosened up a bit, might take a thousand miles or so if it's been town pottered all it's life.

I run a 1995 V6 Est. The best I've ever got out of a tank is 25.5 mpg overall, most of that was cruising at 70mph. Around town I get 21-22mpg but of course this will include cold starts, short journeys. When I play hard it quite often drops into the teens.

The pay-off of course is the sheer luxurious drive, which helps the miles just roll by. I offset the cost of the Camry by driving a Yaris most of the time.
