Rear Door Check Strap

Just finished changing the rear door check strap to the longer version to allow the door to open fully.

Many thanks to AnchorMan :thumbsup: for his excellent tutorial - without which I would have never attempted to take the trim off my new car.

Also many thanks to Parts-King :thumbsup: - if only all motor dealers were this helpful.

2 tips to anyone trying this at home:

Buy the proper tool! ;) Makes all the difference.

Do not drop the little white trim tabs on a gravel drive :censor: you will be looking for a while :P

Having had so much help from other members, hope this little item may help others. Just got one of these from M&S for £3.50

3 steady or flashing LEDS - runs off 2 AAA batteries - will put a self adhesive velcro patch on inside trim of door and pop this on when I have the door wide open - should help alart oncoming traffic -- seemed so much easier than wiring up some LEDS to the interior light switch and drilling holes in the side of the rear door trim.

Thanks again all and Happy Raving

Great job

And a super little gadget you found there, I'll have to lookout for one of them :toast:

Think the picture of your lovely dogs is super, you can almost read their minds "hurry up and take the photo...we want to go for a walk"

Nice one - transforms the car doesn't it!

And woof woof to those two well behaved passengers :fox: (sorry, couldn't find a dog)!
