Considering Buying A T Sport Celica

Hi their this is my first post and wont be my last

at the moment im looking to buying a celica 190 from a garage it is priced at 5500 but it has 122k mileage on it, its a 51 plate so its done 20kish a year

anyone able to tell me what condition i should expect the engine to be in, word of mouth is toyota engines much like all japanese engines are built like tanks, but i keep reading about oil loss and the bottom end going :(

so any information would be helpful

this is the website for the dealer im hoping to buy the car from depending on your answers, if not ill continue my search for other dealers and prices

a quick reply would be great as i might go and put my money down tomorrow :D

Personally speaking mate, id save a bit more money and go for something with lower miles, sure the engine is tough but it revs to over 8,000 rpm which it probably has seen quite a few times over its 122k life.

Regarding the oil consumption problems etc with toyota, everyone is going to say this make of car is great and this make of car is crap...but at the end of the day they all give problems. Bet if you looked at other manufacturers forums you will see stuff that would scare you.

I've had a fiesta and 2 Focuses and none of them gave any real problems over the time that i had them, but still some people will say Fords are crap..
