The Mrs bought one today. Just about to set it up etc.

It looks the biz, if it's any good I might have to get her to get me one tomorrow.

Anyone any experience with them?

Overhyped and overpriced Apple product, yet to be proven.

Other than that they are OK if you have money to burn.

Yep they do look the biz jim, let us know if the interface is as smooth as they claim, for selecting and scrolling etc. Was thinking of asking santa for one

Well its hers, so you will have to wait till she gets board, and since she knows you are itching to get it im thinking she will be teasing you with it

I know not everyone is into them, but Apple have got themselves into the iconic status, and almost every product seems to hold their value, no half price option in two months after the launch

According to my m8 who likes gadgets, as i know nothing about them i am posting his comment hes getting the 8gb n95 in january

Things the iPhone can't do:

No MMS.

No video recording.

No 3G.

No custom ringtones or SMS alert tones and the default ringtones are awful!

No instant messaging.

Lacks tactile keys which makes texting horrible.

No memory expansion.

No games.

No speed dialing.

No installable software.

Battery can only be replaced by sending the whole phone away.

No voice dialing.

The camera is only 2megapixel, has no autofocus and no flash.

No cut/copy/paste.

No A2DP (for bluetooth stereo/headphone output).

No GPS.

No document viewing, let alone editing.

No flash support for the web browser.

No file browser.

Visual voicemail laggy and slow.

Only takes iPod cable which is non-standard and prone to breakage.

No TV output.

Web browser is slow, even over WLAN.

Can't type anything in landscape mode.

Only one picture at a time in email.

Interface is very smooth. Works just as it should.

Browswer seems good so far (over WIFI, not tried non wifi)

The only bad things I can see about it so car is the fact that the camera isn't very good, it has no flash and it can't take vids.

You can create your own custom ringtones etc from songs.

The thing I like about it so far is the looks, style, functionality of it. Also it's a funky machine! lol.

The web browser is great. No need to open up the laptop. lol. Still to see how slow it is normally though.

I am still in 2 minds to get one myself. I have a N95 and a 30gig Ipod already.

What to do, what to do....

£269 and the minimum monthly contract with O2 is £35. The phones can be unlocked for use on other networks but this voids the warranty and could break the device if software updates from Apple are installed...

Suckers!!!

Heard mixed reviews about the iPhone though but tbh jimlad if you have a 30gig iPod and a N95 i'd stick with them and save the money to put towards your next car :P

If you really want one (which I don't as mine better :D ) get one imported from France as the French law requires that mobile operators sell phones in such a way that they can be used interchangeably with other carriers

As much as I like Apple stuff I cannot bring myself to spend 270 quid and an 18 month £35 contract with the shower of sh*ite that is o2 for the privilege.

Plus my trusty 6300 has survived many drunkard droppings which I don't think this would.

In all fairness I think it depends on where you live as to whether something is terrible or not ... I've been with Orange for years now and occassionally get a problem! ... If I go to Cornwall however thats a different story ... very hit and miss, but same goes with my daughters phone which is Vodafone and T-Mobile which is my other halves!!!

I've got one on mine! lol

It's so you can connect it to the telly to watch any vids you take. My phone can take good vids.
