Hi all,

Don't know if this has been discussed before, but after along battle with my local dealer, costing me a fortune, they forgot to reset my oil change light on my last service and want to charge me again to do it! :o

So can anyone help, and tell me how to reset it on a 55 D4D T4 Avensis.

Welcome to TOC

Was it a Toyota dealer that failed to reset your oil change light at the last service, and if so, did they stamp your service book and issue you with a receipt/worksheet?

If the answer to these questions is "Yes" then surely they are obliged to reset the light as part of the service.

You do not say how long ago the service was carried out and if the oil change light has been on since the service...............If it has, then go back armed with your receipts and insist that they complete the service properly and reset the light at no further cost.

Hi Red Yaris

Thanks for the welcome.

Yes it was a main dealer, The light come on last week, one week after the service.

I have no interest in returning to the dealer as i have had enough of the BS that they spout.

10 weeks to change a head gasket and do an 80k service!

The bill 3k+, until Toyota GB stepped in after alot of calls, still 1.8k

But thanks anyway

O.K.

So I figured it out for myself.

If anyone is interested:-

Turn ignition to first position, Press and hold ODO reset, ( Must be on ODO, not trip)

Turn ignition to second position, keeping reset held down.

In ODO window you will see.
