Stock Radio/cd Player.

Hello all viewers,

Couple of weeks ago I noticed that when in CD mode the player display was flickering. Friday night it packed up and will now only spit CDs out after a few seconds. It's been cleaned with no change, and the radio still works.

Anyone here had similar issues, if so how did you deal with it please?

The warranty is up so there's no point bothering the dealer at this point.

Trouble is you lose the functionality of the steering wheel remote unless someone can recommend a model that comes with the adapter to make the steering wheel controls still function.

Pioneer has some kind of adapter for the steering wheel remote

Kenwood, clarion and others offer a steering wheel stalk remote interface kit.

Very cheap too, 10-15 pounds, simple plug and play.

If you buy one which does not offer the interface kit, there are programmable PACII interface kits so you can program any remote to any stereo.

I don't really want to go down the road of fitting an aftermarket audio system (call me tight if you like, you might be right!) as it's not recording studio quality output I'm after, so, if any of you drivers who have fitted a new unit are looking to offload your factory fit jobby, then I'm willing to grease your mitts with some silver. I travel regularly between merseyside (lower case m fully intentional) and Oxon/Northants so can collect, otherwise we'd have to trust it to 'other courier'.
