Now it's time to change my tires to winter one's. But I cant get current wheels off  They seem to be stuck on the car. Me and my dad tried to pull them down, strike them with a large hammer (on the rubber that is :D), use a jack... But still managed to get only one wheel off.... I've even tried hard braking with no wheel bolts in front - no luck, wheels are still there. Any more suggestions? This car is a tank

I hate this damn car, everything on it is too cheap. I'm changing to Rav4 by Christmas.

We get alot of wheels that are stuck to the hubs, easiest way i find is to get it up in the air and give it a good smack with a rubber mallet or kick it from behind.

Hope you sort it out.

Then apply some copper grease to the mating surfaces before re-fitting.

You pay your money and take your choice, it has to come off eventually, keep persevering

Had the car just over 13 months now, and as it was such a brilliant day today, I decided to take the alloys off, give them a good wash and polish, and then polish the rest of the car. Duly jacked the car up, loosened the wheel nuts, (not all of them seemed to be torqued to the same setting,) but then I really struggled to get the rear wheels off of the hubs. It was the first time they had been removed since I've had the car. Once off, there was a considerable amount of corrosion on the mating surfaces. It seems that the original build uses lubricant very sparingly.

So may I suggest that everyone with alloys get theirs taken off as soon as poss (if they haven't already) and clean everything up, lube with copper grease, and refit. It will not take too long, and it will make your first wheel change a lot easier to do. The profile on the inside of the Sports' 5 spoke alloy wheels incorporates a channel (presumably to direct water out) but it also causes a lot of rust build up, particularly on the front hubs (unlike metals etc).quote]

I did post this a little while ago relating to Alloy Wheels. They did come off, but with a bit of gentle rocking back and forth on the hubs.
