i'm not sure what the Gen7 centre consol is like but if you have a double din space then it should fit straight in, you may need adapter plugs but that would be something to sort out once you get it

Its double-din so should fit. You may need to fabricate a small surround for it out of perspex or similar, as the hole in a G7 is slightly bigger than double-din, presumably for aesthetics.

I'd get a Toyota to ISO adaptor as well, and butcher the adaptor for your cabling rather than butchering the in-car cabling. Snip off the ISO plug on the adapter and use bullet connectors (couple of quid from local Maplins) to connect your stereo cabling to the adaptor. Solder all cable ends to the bullets, if you can, for a better conenction. Make sure you do this without the adaptors being plugged in to the stereo or the car, otherwise you'll get sparks on the car end, and fear of blowing your stereo through excessive heat (if you solder) on the stereo end. Plug it in once everything's securely cabled, and everything else should then just work! Fingers crossed.... ;)

I fitted a very similar unit in my Gen 7, great player.

Only problem was, the plastic surround that came with the standard toyota player had to be removed as it wouldnt allow the screen to open properly.

Think i bought a wiring loom from Halfords and modified it slightly as the unit had a different connector to that of the Toyota.

you shouldn't need to butcher a loom, there should be the one with the stereo to ISO then you buy the toyota to ISO and plug them together, occasionally you need to chance the red and yellow wires about but the loom normally has plugs for that
