Problems With My Corolla

Hello!

Ive had my Corolla for over a month now, its a brillaint car except for two things:

1. There is a funny noise coming from the back off the car when i go over a pot hole or bump. Its like a small ratling noise which stops seconds after. Its really bugging me, i know its not the exhaust but im not sure what else it could be!!

2. I have a funny rattling noise from the drivers side (i think its dashboard area) Its only after ive been driving for a while, so when im stopped at traffic lights or going really slow it makes the rattling noise. Maybe its not idling enough!?

Im just wondering if anoyne has any ideas what these probelms could be!?

Thanks, Steve

i've got a '95 e10 that makes a hell of a racket fromt the back when i go over bumps. i'm pretty certain its the springs moving slightly but to be honest, to get rid of the rattle i just turn the stereo up a bit more. (and i'm far too lazy to really check what it is!!) just jack the rear of the car up slightly, grab the springs and see if theres any movement.

the first 1 sounds very like the rear anti-roll bar bushes which are quite common to go and easy to replace, the second rattle will prob be best if you take some1 out with you to hear it from the passenger seat, this helps a lot :D

My car did the same when I bought it. My rear strut was fried and when I took it out the whole unit fell apart and the top piston exit was so worn you could see through it.
