How To Use The Power Heater?

got in the car this morning and it was 2 degrees. The perfect time to use the power heater, but i can't work out what you're supposed to do to get it to work. OK, you press the button and the book tells you to wait 40 seconds or something. After a few miles i start to get some heat, but I'd have got that anyway as the engine warms, so what do you need to do to coax the power heater into life.

The manual is very little help (as ever) as it seems there are various types of heater, some need the AC on, some need the fan on full.

Has anyone used theirs successfully? if so, how?

Hi

Have a german import.

2005 estate D4D

The book from Mr T in german if i understand it correct tells me that down to 0 degrees celcius you can use AC on.

Below 0 the AC looses it function.

If the AC is off the heater works from 8 degrees celcius and down.

Any fan setting.

Just like you i have used the power heater and cant seem to find any difference in heat with the heater on or off.

Have not waited 40 sec like you describe.

i was told that it needs to be less than 8 degrees outside. put the fans on max and tamp on hi then press the button to the right of the steering wheel. some people have argued that the heater isnt actually fitted to the car, just the button. but that is aanother storey :)
