Where Can I Get A Full Stainless Steel Exhaust?

Anyone know where i could get a full stainless steel exhaust for a 95 corolla 1.8 gxi??

What kind of money should i expect to pay for one??

What kind of gains should i expect to get in horsepower??

I cant seem to find any on the net except on eBay in the us the have a stainless steel header ( Item number: 170167094816 ) for the 1.8 engine but im not too sure what the fitment would be like. They told me it would fit but im not so sure, the engines are the same all right ( 7afe ) but i think that the exhaust sensors are differant and to be honest i think i would rather get a complete system together rather than pick it up in differant pieces and hope it will all fit!!

Thanks in advance

well, don't want to be a bubble burster but its nigh on impossible to get a full stainless steel exhaust system (from header to muffler) here in the UK you migh find some cat-backs but there is only one from mongoose for the AE111 hatchback and i think that there is even less for the GXi i'm afraid. It's mostly to be a custom jobby ;) i would suggest getting hold of an AE111 header as they are low grade stainless from factory, mandrel bent 4-2 which is quite impressive, however i don't think it will fit properly on the 7A-FE as the block is a smidgeon taller if i'm not much mistaken, Hope this helps in some way :D

........... Does a cat-back system give much of a performance increase?? Can anything else be done to help things out??

At the moment i have a pipercross panel filter fitted and i have bought a set of NGK high performance plug leads + NGK Iridium spark plugs which i will be fitting next weekend.

The 7afe only pushes out 118 bhp standard and i reckon that this can surely be upped a bit.

How come the 4afe has 110 bhp standard when tiss only a 1.6 ltr, surely the 7afe should be well up on this?

well the 7A-FE wasn't designed to put out that much more power, but it was designed to have a lot more torque, the 4a-fe has 137Nm whilst the 7a-fe has 157Nm thats a lot for only 175cc extra. cat backs do make a lot of difference, i had one made up for mine, and it is a noticable difference (i'm not just talking about the noise) you must also bear in mind that the 7A-FE was actually designed for the US market, we just ended up with a lot of them, this is why it feels like a very de-tuned engine it was disigned to run on their fuel which is about 87octane really sludgy. but i'm sure there are many things that can be done to the 7A-FE your could try a 7A-GE conversion, theres a chap on here thats in the process of doing that now :D

powerflow do them and also ask around at local tyre and exhaust specialist places they will do custom exhausts for it. if you buy something that doesnt tottaly fit it will stil be a headache on fitting as youll be paying extra for reducers that need to be welded and all sorts i know a local in my area do full custom exhausts but its very far from you. Have a good look around or just get it customly done. As to breakhorse power iv heard depending on the car it can do around 15bhp...but thats just a call back im not sure.

................ Dont really want to do an engine swap/conversion, just looking for a little more kick out of her...... its only got 44,000 miles on the clock and is driving well so im adamant on keeping the 7afe in it, found a place about 40 miles from me that do custom exhausts so going to give em a ring during the week for a price for a cat back system...........your exhaust looks well, might go for something similiar for the gxi....

Does the 4afe and 7afe work off the same ECU, would they be programmed the same??

i've heard that you can indeed use the 4A-FE ecu on a 7A-FE engine, but there isn't much you can do to it, except possibley putting a superchips icon piggyback ecu. ;)
