Shaky Steering

why is it on my 53 reg avensis i have shaky steering, it was recalled to get my steering shaft spline fixed as well as laser aligned and balanced and it still shakes. Full toyota service history up to 80,000 any ideas would be a help

Could be a faulty tyre. I've heard stories of some tyres just not being able to be balanced, even though they show up fine on the balancing machine.

Ive had my 53 d4d since new

had all the checks done ref vibration on the steering wheel

nothing really changed

ended up buying a nice padded wheel cover

bit of a taxi driver effect, but has worked for the last 100k miles!

as a matter of interest a fried bought a new aurius and ended up with 'vibration white finger' !! after much a doo eventually got an exchange on a corrola
