Yes that is right it only works if the tep outside is about 0 oc -1 oc

well anyway i dont think in this country you need to use it. as it is only really for extreme cold.

Yea this is used in extreme cold conditions to keep the engine running and not stalling.....our friends in Finland and cold places like that (and Essex at the moment :( ) when stationary use this to keep engine revs up.....

Use it when first starting on cold mornings

its can also used when jump starting another vehicle too - my hilux surf has it fitted , but it works any/all the time , not just when cold.

Hi I had a 2003 RAV4 D4-D

The Idle UP switch increases the engine revs on tick over only when the outside temperature is low enough,

in the summer pressing the switch made no difference in the winter it increased the revs by about 200 to 300,

I used it when defrosting the car on the drive when I had the heated rear window and the fan heater and the heated mirrors

on, it helped the car warm up and put more charge into the Battery.

Hope this helps. :)
