Possible Fuel Strike

I have just had this email from a freind, who wrote the following.

There is going to be a petrol strike form monday morning

i have been told this this morning from my sister who works for local council driving a van

she had a call from the council transport manager telling her to fill her van up at end of shift

because there is going to be a petrol and diesel transport strike stopping all fuel and it will last at least a week

the news is not out yet but soon will be so get your tanks full if you need too

hopefully they will get the price of fuel back down to 90p a litre

I don't know what you guys are seeing, but i just been to Leeds and back through Rochdale and the pumps are busy "more vehicles than normal"

If you're planning on doing something like that it's best to keep it quiet, if people know about it all that happens is people just put the same amount of fuel in their tanks earlier so profits aren't affected. If anything they get their money earlier because people panic buy all of their stock at full price. It'll knock a few pence per litre off the price for a short while but the best 1 was the 1st 1 because it was unplanned, nobody was prepared & so it had a drastic affect

Having said that, I filled my tank last night so if they're planning on doing a strike now wouldn't be the worst time because I've got about 3 weeks of fuel to keep me going

I think 85p a litre is a reasonable price.

Sadly I can remember when I paid less than that for a gallon
