i have a 1987 toyota celica st and it has a very bad leak on the power steering fluid, since i am having a hard time removing the whole power steering pump because i lack the proper tools i decided to remove the belt from the power steering pump, i drove the car and the steering felt heavy but its ok by my standards since i rather drive a car with a heavy steering rather than spend money to buy a new pump or have it repair. my question is is it ok for the cars steering system to run withiut the pump, will i have any problems in the long run. SOS anybody.

If you are going to run without power steering i'd recommend trying to get hold of a non power rack assembly. You could source one from a breaker. You will find you'll get a better feel and it will be lighter to steer.
