Rattle/vibration

Hi

I have a 2003 D4D and when the gearbox is in 5th gear I get a really annoying rattle/vibration from the gearstick at speeds between 60 and 70 mph. If I hold the gearstick at this speed it stops the noise. My friend also has a Rav4 but the petrol engined 2004 version and his does the same. He reported it to dealer and there answer was that Toyata needed to have so many complaints about it before they would look into it and release a fix?

Any one else have similar problems or suggest fix - othere than holding gearstick??

The fifth gear syncro can go on RAV's and has been mentioned on here before...luckily enough you don't need to remove the whole gear box to access it...do a search and should bring up something... could also have a look over at www.rav4world.com from our cousins in good old US of A :cowboy: (don't stay there too long though)
