Hi I have just brought my 5th Toyota Previa, it is a 1997 GS automatic, but it has a problem!!!!!! :(

it starts fine, every time, but as i start to pull off the engine stumbles and starts to die, and then picks up fine, and goes fine, but then when you slow right down again and pull off again, it stumbles again, when you are passed this point it goes great :D when i brought the previa, it had been run dry of petrol!!!!! i dont know if this has anything to do with it

also when i start it from cold the revs only go up to the 1,000 mark, where my old previa when first started sat half way between the 1,000 & the 2,000

If any body has any idears please please let me know. I am in a wheelchair 24/7 and need to get my previa done.

Yours

Could be anything from an air leak in the vacuum pipes to a misbehaving cold start injector to a faulty sensor. No easy one here I am afraid you need to go through a methodical elimination process.

Does it improve the hotter the car gets or is it constant irrespective of engine temperature??

If you don't have the knowledge you will need to find someone who does but this online manual may help.
