Nitrous 4-agze

Just a quick question. Has anyone here fitted a nitrous kit to anything running a 4-AGZE engine? I've heard the later Levin 4-AGZE engines run forged pistons in standard trim. If this is correct (can anyone verify that one?) it's practically begging for a progressive nitrous shot to up the power and drop the inlet temps.

For some reason the thought of doing this to a 'charger converted Mk1 MR2 is rather entertaining. 300 horsepower to the tonne with a bit of work, that'd get some attention on the track and should still give me good fuel economy when I'm off the gas.

Welcome to the club mate. The pistons are indeed forged and coated. Take a look here - the MR2 FAQ for the lowdown. Don't forget to come back here though :P :P

Hmm... almost 300 hp in a sub one tonne chassis. That's 33% more power per tonne of weight than a late spec supra twin turbo by my maths. You'd need to run the supra up to about 450bhp to match the power to weight, and the supra would still never have the handling of the good ol mk1 (plus supras = expensive, gassed and charged MR2's = much cheaper)

Thanks for the info AE (and more thanks for the welcome, tis good to be here). I think I know which engine I'll be going for now. Might have to think about getting some wider tyres on the back though.

 Oh, this is going to be fun
