I bought my Aygo a year ago and have been delighted with it..no complaints at all, love it!

However, today I took it for its first service (7800miles) and mentioned that when I jacked it up to change a wheel a few weeks ago I noticed very slight fluid leakage from a rear damper, and I would like it checked.

The service was duly completed (I am on the service plan so didn't have to worry about the financial side) and I was told BOTH front dampers are leaking and one rear (they will only change the one faulty one but the other is likely to go soon too) and the car is booked in for repair next week with no charge to me, obviously.

My point is...is it just my Aygo, is it a known problem, have Toyota beefed up the dampers in the last year, so this is less likely to happen in future?

If I had not asked them to check, would they have found the problem?

How many of you have faulty dampers and dont know it?!

After three years and no warranty ,I dont fancy changing the dampers every time an MOT is due.

The roads here are city roads with few speed bumps and a generally in good condition and I dont drive hard. (over 60 years old)

Has any one else had this bother with dampers?

Haven't had the problem round here - and speed bumps are certainly popular with the council if not the drivers.

My Aygo is about 18 months old and I have not noticed a promlem with the dampers (not that I've jacked it up mind.

I jacked up the front to have a look-see at what a "leaking" damper looks like, and there is a slight oily/dusty grime visible below the rubber shroud on both sides at the front but certainly not a big "leak".

If it was one of my old cars I would wipe it off before the MOT and hope for the best!

Must look at the C1 and 107 forums to see if they have any mention of shock absorber problems.
