Help please!!

Had my 2.0vvti 02 avensis at the main dealer and they have told me that BANK 2, SENSOR 2 oxygen sensor is defective. £190 please sir!

I've contacted a local ANDREW PAGE and been quoted £56 for the front sensors and £64 for the back. Trouble is i don't know which one BANK 2, SENSOR 2 refers too.

Anyone out there know? help!!

Many Thanks

I don't know, but if the dealer can quote you a price, they must know the part they are quoting you for! Ask them for info. It is quite within your rights to seek a better price elsewhere. If they refuse to tell you, they are crap and don't deserve your hard earned anyway!

Hello again!

I've replied to your PM, however here I am again. I'm not sure on the front/back sensors as they are all at the front of the engine. There are two before the cat, just below the heat shield and two down at the bottom. I 'THINK' Bank 1 is the top two and bank 2 are the bottom two.

Mike.

I was going to post exactly that question on the Rav forum having got an OBDII reader today. I have the info somewhere on my pc from when one of my top sensors failed earlier in the year. Now the other top one has failed. These are dearer than the bottom ones I believe as it's over 200 for a top one.

edit - just found a toyota usa doc and it says sensor 1's are before the cat (it uses an example of a V engine so bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 1 as they are each looking after a bank of cylinders) while sensor 2's are after the cat at the bottom. That makes my fault a bottom sensor. (P0141 heater circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 2). Yours if definately one of the bottom ones though.
