Squeeking Noise When Driving

Hi everybody!

I've encountered a problem the past days. I changed up to winter tyres last weekend, and the car was driven for a couple of days. It stood until Friday or Saturday, and while it had been standing for three days, it had developed a squeeking noise when I'm driving/reversing. I have a feeling it's the brakes or something else of metal rubbing against metal. It's not the steering, nor the engine. Have anyone encountered the same problem?

Pretty tired of having to fix everything, first the Battery went dead, then the wheels had rusted on the hubs. Seems like my '93 Charade is more realiable at the moment - but of course I have parked it up for the winter. Help is therefore much appreciated.

Best regards,

Eirik

Mouse in glovebox?

They live in your car as well?

I'll jack the car up tomorrow and see if I can see anything particular. I hope it's just a stone somewhere, but I don't exactly have my hopes too high

I had a squeeking noise coming from my front far side wheel and it turned out to be the brake disks, it tended to happen after driving a fair few miles and warming the brakes up. It might be something similar if your sure it's not a wheel bearing noise.

Yes, I did also suspect the brakes. So I went out for a little drive a couple of days after I started this thread. Braked as hard as I could a couple of times - noise gone. It was serviced a couple of days later, the decided to replace the front disks due to too much rust. Had MOT the same day, 0 marks! The Battery died a couple of days later again though :P

i also have a squeeking problem when im driving at low speed 10-20 mph although lately its been happening at higher speeds aswell. the brakes have been squeeking since the car was approx 6 months old. its 5 and a half years old now. also the bottom of the passenger door is starting to rust and bubble. i think this comes from repairs it had on it when it was damaged not long after i bought it new. but im not with the same insurance company anymore so its not guarented. guess they used cheap materials to repair the damage as the other doors are fine.

Yes!!

I bought my used Yaris two months ago and there is a mysterious high frequency (my Dad can't dear it!!) coming from the front wheel.

I say mysterious because it is totally irregular - sometimes it's the steering column, sometimes clutch.

Have had it looked over but no one has a clue!!
