iv`e got cold air blowing from the a/c but when the temps turned up the air is only luke warm.

i`ve done a search or 2 and been told there could be air in the system or the thermostat could be faulty

can anyone give me some detailed tips on how to flush the system out and start afresh and where the thermostat is again some details on removing this

cheers

Two pretty reasonable diagnosiseseseses (not sure on how that word should be spelt!), but no idea on how to do on a G6, sorry...

For the Thermostat, follow the top left pipe out of the radiator into the engine block, goes in just behind the alternator. Unbolt this here and change thermostat.

Very common fault on the Gen 6.

as to bleding the air out of the cooling system leave the rad cap off, turn heater to hot but leave the blowers off. and just run the engine till the fan cuts in. just changed the antifreeze on mine and managed to get a little air lock. but after doing that it seems to be fine

or you could locate the air bleed screw and vent it that way . :)

2 or 3 10mm bolts , remove housing , remove old stat , place o-ring on new stat , replace stat , replace housing , replace 2 or 3 bolts, dont over tighten them . job done.

do it when the engine is cold helps alot too.

NO NEED TO REMOVE IT AT ALL.

THE HOUSING WILL LIFT PAST THE ALT WHEN YOU TAKE THE HOSE OFF.

thanks gt4booster

he`s managed to change the thermostat but still no joy

he checked the 40a fuse in engine bay.... ok

all fuses seem ok on drivers side(under steering wheel)

is there another fuse somewhere?

Hi man or GT - had a look at the job this morning - does the alternator need to be swiveled out of the way to get at the housing bolts - I can see one bolt (on the housing) on the right hand side of the alternator - do you have to get under the car to get at the other two bolts or can all 3 bolts be accessed from above the car?
