No Gps Signal! Tns 300

Hello,

I really need some help with my sat nav. Ive just bought a CTS (03) and under the passenger seat is a TNS 300 dvd system complete with DVD. When I push the "Navi" button, the Navigation screen appears all menus seem to be present and I can input a destination and it then calculates a route. The only problem it seems to have is that cant seem to pick up any GPS signal. On the screen that shows co-ordinates and the compus it always reads "GPS:0". Does anyone have any suggestions?? The DVD that is in the unit is a 2002, so Im currently "aquiring" a 06/07 edtion via the wonderful world of downloads. Hopefully this might help. Im just a bit lost as to what the next stage is. Where would I be able to get it fixed??

Thoughts would be appreciated!!

Many Thanks

Nick Ball

My guess is the gps aerial cable has come out the back of the stereo/main unit under the seat.

I can't remember for sure, but when i had my kenwood stereo and hdd nav installed they used the existing gps aerial which was a garmin one. Could have been spliced under the passenger seat. It should be a pink coloured cable, so if possible trace it through the middle console trim round the gearbox area up behind the main dash to the stereo? The main aerial should be mounted on the top of your windscreen behind the rear view mirror. Integrated into the windshield.

Cheers

Armz.
